Richard A. Mosqueda is a queer, Latine director and producer based in San Francisco. He is passionate about new plays with a big heart, that are epic in scope, stylistically adventurous, and theatrically imaginative. They are committed to telling LGBTQ+ stories for the stage with an emphasis on Latine/x narratives.

Richard was the Director in Residence for New Conservatory Theatre Center for the 2022-2023 season, where he directed both the West Coast Premiere of Locusts Have No King by C. Julian Jiménez and the World Premiere of A Picture of Two Boys by Nick Malakhow. Other NCTC credits include the World Premiere of Marga Gomez’s Spanish Stew, Natahan Tylutki’s Francis Grey and the Case of His Dead Boyfriend, and the YouthAware touring production of Outspoken by Prince Gomolvilas.

Other credits include the sold out production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Shotgun Players), the World Premiere of Tom Swift’s A Marriage (TheatreFirst), Baruch Porras Hernandez’s Love in the Time of Piñatas (Epic Party Theatre, Portland Center Stage, New York City Fringe).

Richard was the former Artistic Producer for Marin Theatre Company and is the Lead Producer / co-founder for Epic Party Theatre in San Francisco.

Richard is currently developing a new theatrical project entitled 41: A Queer Ball (recently developed at The Ground Floor at Berkeley Rep) based on the Mexican society scandal El Baile De Los 41. For this project, he will collaborate with writer Jesús I. Valles and dramaturg Karina Gutiérrrez.

They are a graduate of The Theatre School at DePaul University.
