Richard is queer, Latinx theatre director who is committed to new works and genre-defying theatrical projects by artists of color. Richard recently directed the YouthAware production of Prince Gomolvilas’ Outspoken for New Conservatory Theatre Center. He has also directed Jordan Tannahill’s Botticelli in the Fire for Shotgun Players’ Champagne Staged Reading Series. He has also served as the SDC Foundation observer for the World Premiere of David Henry Hwang and Jeanine Tesori’s Soft Power for Center Theatre Group. Richard and his theater company, Epic Party Theater, were selected as one of six finalists for PlayGround’s Innovator Incubator, a competitive program designed to support new, innovative theatre companies. He currently serves as the Lead Producer for Epic Party Theatre. He has worked with such companies as New Conservatory Theatre Center, Center Theatre Group, Shotgun Players, Piano Fight, Halcyon Theatre, Marin Theatre Company, and AlterTheater Ensemble. He holds a BFA from The Theatre School at DePaul University. SDC Associate Member.
